Pathway to Becoming a Dog Trainer
Frequently asked questions
Do I need qualifications to become a dog trainer?
You don’t legally need qualifications, but recognised courses give you credibility, help you work ethically, and are often required by employers and professional bodies.
Which course should I start with?
That depends on your current experience. Beginners usually start at Level 2, while those with hands-on experience may be ready for Level 3 or above.
Can I study online?
Yes, most of our courses are delivered online with full tutor support. You'll have flexibility while still receiving structured, guided learning.
How long does each course take?
Course lengths vary. For example, Level 2 might take 3–4 months part-time, while Level 5 or 6 Diplomas could take 12–24 months depending on your pace.
Are these courses accredited?
Yes. Our qualifications are accredited by awarding bodies such as iPET Network and AIM Qualifications, and with ABTC standards.
Can I work with clients straight after completing a course?
Level 5 is generally the point where learners begin offering structured training services professionally. It’s always wise to gain experience alongside your studies.
