Understand how the GI system effects behaviour

This one hour presentation will look at how the gastrointestinal system and the living organisms within it, may impact a dog’s behavior as well as how disease of the gut and other environmental factors, may play a role. 

Be able to communicate the latest science

The presentation will give an overview of how gut health can be assessed by dog professionals and how to present this information to the dog’s veterinary surgeon to work collaboratively to effect positive change.

Meet the instructor

Dr Amber Batson

Amber Batson graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 1999 and has worked in clinical vet practice ever since. She developed a passion for animal behavior within the first year of graduating and has undertaken a number of behavior qualifications in dog, horse and cat behavior which resulted in her starting up her business, Understand Animals in 2007. Since then she has provided global education to animal caregivers and professionals as well as offering behavior consultations and undertaking expert legal witness work in welfare cases, whilst working part time in medical practice.
